Sheri Bignell was a neighbor at Fall Quilt Market. Her charming "Freckleberry Farm" booth was around the corner from ours...it had so much "curb appeal", I just had to stop and say hello. The rest is history...I'm her newest fan.

Day 10 of 16
Rachel Griffith is our next guest, she's another friend of Tula's. Like Tula and Julie, she's from a new generation of quilters, one of the young'ns. I am so glad that quilting is an interest that is being passed along from one woman to another and one generation to the next...I first used a sewing machine in Mrs. Schupp's Home Ec class in 8th grade. She was infinitely patient, and she made me feel like I had a talent for sewing. I went on to make a majority of my clothes in high school, and I made my first quilt at 17 for my dorm room in college.
Rachel's blog is "PS I QUILT" (isn't that a darling name?) Rachel received her fabric a little late, but said that she wasn't worried, because she worked well under pressure...we could use a gal like that a LakeHouse! I am curious to learn where gals who didn't have Home Ec in school learned to sew & quilt...

I met our next guest Miss Tula Pink at Spring Quilt Market in Pittsburgh. It was a mutual admiration society...Tula was with her mom Kathy Runyan. Kathy owns Country Expressions Quilt Shoppe in Stewartsville Missouri. It didn't hurt that our conversation started with Kathy telling me how they "sell a ton of LakeHouse fabric" in her shop. As you can imagine, nothing makes me happier! In turn, I waas absolutely smitten with the tote bag that Tula was carrying made of the fabric that she designs for Moda.
So here's some close ups of Miss Tula's newest project...
Tula calls this her "Hogwarts" version of the Dolly Dress Ups...

Day 7 of 16
Our next guest is a fellow fabric lover, quilter, blogger and "bon vivant". Julie Herman aka "JayBird" was introduced to me by the lovely Tula Pink at Fall Quilt Market...What she lacks in years (thought bubble) gray hairs (LOL), Julie makes up for in enthusiasm. It's really nice to have some representation from the next generation of quilters in this event.
